Trimble Access Software: Resetting the Default Point Name

Products

  • Trimble® Access™ software

Question

When delivering a Trimble controller running the Trimble Access software to a customer I want to reset the point name to the default. How do I do this?

Answer

Try the following:

  1. On the controller, browse to Trimble Data\System Files and then delete DefaultSettings.jnl. If you delete the file, a new DefaultSettings.jnl file is created when you restart the Trimble Access software. If this does not reset the point name to the default, continue with Step 2.

Note: DefaultSettings.jnl file is in binary format and cannot be edited. The file contains the current set of default settings that are applied when a new job is created that is not created from a template. The file is updated whenever someone changes the job properties in their current job. If this happens, the point name value is reset to ‘?’ (default).
  2. In Trimble Data\System File, delete TrimbleLauncher.users. If you delete the file, a new TrimbleLaunchers.users file is created when you restart the Trimble Access software. If this does not reset the point name to the default, continue with Step 3.
  3. In Trimble Data\USER, delete config.cfg. If you delete the file, a new config.cfg file is created when you restart the Trimble Access software.

Note: Once the config.cfg file is removed from the USER folder, all custom details such as custom targets are also removed.
